Anthony Robinson Obituary, Death;- A 17-year-old student from Scotlandville High School was tragically shot and killed on Monday afternoon off Scotland Avenue.
Anthony Robinson lost his life following a shooting incident at the Village Green Apartments located on Bradfield Avenue, close to Scotland Avenue. The shooting occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m., after which Robinson was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
“This tragic event has profoundly affected our school community. As we grieve this significant loss, we want to reassure you that the Baton Rouge Police Department is diligently investigating to uncover the details surrounding this incident,” stated a spokesperson for East Baton Rouge Parish Schools.
The school district will provide counselors to offer support and assistance to those in need. “In challenging times like these, it is crucial for us to unite as a community, providing strength and support to one another. Let us rely on each other as we navigate through this difficult period together,” the spokesperson added.
According to the Baton Rouge Police, Robinson was shot following a previous confrontation with the suspect, who has yet to be identified.
