Anthony Pierre Jr Death; – The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred on Sunday night at a residence in Metairie, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old man. This incident marked the first of two shootings reported in East Jefferson within a 24-hour period.
According to the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office, Anthony Pierre Jr. was discovered injured in the driveway of his home located in the 1600 block of Colony Road around 10:30 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene following a report of the shooting, as stated by Sgt. Brandon Veal, the department’s spokesperson. Pierre, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made in connection with this case, and investigators have not disclosed any information regarding a potential motive for the homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office also reported a second shooting at approximately 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of Filmore Street and Airline Drive, where an unidentified man was hospitalized in critical condition, according to authorities. No further details about the Filmore Street shooting were provided by the department on Monday.
