Anthony Cristobal Obituary, Death; – A man was killed on Monday morning in northwest Dallas after being shot at by another individual and a security guard, according to police reports.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Anthony Cristobal. He was shot in the 2000 block of West Northwest Highway around 4:25 a.m. on Monday, as stated in a news release from the Dallas police. Cristobal was transported to a hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed.
Preliminary investigations indicate that following an altercation between two groups, Cristobal retrieved a firearm and aimed it at Anthony Aguilera, aged 22. Luisadolfo Mena, 26, a security guard employed at the business in the vicinity, observed Cristobal with the gun and instructed him to drop it, according to police.
Subsequently, Aguilera attacked a member of Cristobal’s group, prompting Cristobal to discharge his weapon, police reported.
Mena and Heriberto Aguilera, 21, then returned fire towards Cristobal. Cristobal was shot and received assistance from additional security personnel until the arrival of Dallas Fire-Rescue.
The police did not disclose to The Dallas Morning News who was responsible for the fatal shooting of Cristobal. The incident will be presented to a grand jury for review, according to police.
Anthony Aguilera has been arrested and is facing an assault charge. Heriberto Aguilera has also been taken into custody and is facing a weapons violation charge, police stated.
