Andrew Martinez Arrested; – A 21-year-old man was apprehended on April 3 on charges of first-degree murder following the discovery of a deceased individual in the Hyde Park area.
As reported by the Pueblo Police Department, Andrew Martinez was taken into custody after authorities received a notification regarding a body located in the 1900 block of West 21st Street on Thursday morning. Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive man on the front porch of a residence, and emergency personnel later pronounced him dead. The police initiated a homicide investigation, during which Martinez was identified as the suspect.
The identity of the victim will be confirmed by the Pueblo County Coroner’s Office once his next of kin has been informed. Martinez is currently being held at the Pueblo County jail without the possibility of bond, awaiting a court hearing. His initial court appearance is set for April 10.
This incident marks the second homicide in Pueblo for the year 2025, following a total of 20 homicides recorded in the city throughout 2024.
