Amia Cox,Sontia Simmons Obituary, Death; – Two women who were killed after being shot in Shively in the early morning hours of July 7 have been identified and police continue to look for the suspect.
Shively Police Department spokesperson Jordan Brown said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3200 block of Kingswood Way at around 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, they located two women in their 20s, both with gunshot wounds. The two were pronounced dead at the scene, Brown said, and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later identified the women as Amia Cox, 22, and Sontia Simmons, 26.
Brown said police are looking for Labradford Jamarr Ward, 35, in connection with the case. Ward was last seen driving a red 2021 Ford Mustang with the registration plate number of F3W849, but is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if spotted, officials said.
