Amber Calicoat,Abigail Hill Obituary, Death; – Two individuals lost their lives in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 395 near Loon Lake late Sunday afternoon.
As reported by the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on Highway 395 close to Sunset Bay Road in Loon Lake. WSP indicated that two vehicles were traveling north on Highway 395 towards Granite Point when one vehicle overtook the other on the right shoulder, colliding with the second vehicle and causing both to veer into the southbound lane.
One of the vehicles struck a third vehicle that was heading south on the highway, while the other collided with a tree located on the southbound side of the highway.
WSP has identified the deceased as 43-year-old Amber Calicoat and 21-year-old Abigail Hill, both of whom succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Additionally, two other individuals sustained injuries.
According to WSP, the drivers of the two northbound vehicles, including Calicoat, were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Charges against the second northbound driver are currently pending, as stated by WSP.
WSP is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, but has confirmed that drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
