Alvin Lee Ward Jr Obituary, Death; – A three-vehicle collision occurred on Friday morning, resulting in the death of one individual and sending two others to the hospital in Suffolk.
According to Suffolk police, at approximately 8:15 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the 3900 block of Whaleyville Boulevard to respond to a multi-vehicle accident.
Upon their arrival, they discovered that two cars and a commercial motor vehicle were involved in the incident. One occupant of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene, while another occupant from the same vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Subsequently, police identified the deceased individual as Alvin Lee Ward Jr., aged 69, from Suffolk.
One individual from the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle remained unharmed.
The section of Whaleyville Boulevard was closed in both directions for nearly six hours, as reported by the police, while they managed the aftermath of the crash. The road has since been reopened.
Authorities indicate that the investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
