Alondra Reyes Obituary, Death; – The Arapahoe County Coroner has confirmed the identities of a young mother and her infant daughter who were tragically killed in a shooting incident in the Denver metropolitan area over the weekend. Alondra Reyes, aged 20, and her 14-month-old daughter, Aaliyah Leanne Vargas Reyes, were fatally shot on Saturday morning.
Emergency responders from the Aurora police department arrived at a residence located in the 10300 block of East Evans Avenue around 10 a.m. on Saturday. Upon their arrival, they discovered four individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds. Reyes and her daughter were transported to a hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. A 44-year-old woman present at the scene received treatment for minor injuries.
Authorities reported that the suspected shooter, a 19-year-old male, was found deceased at the location. Investigators suspect that the individual died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, although his identity has not yet been disclosed.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are currently under investigation; however, officials have indicated that the incident appears to be connected to an undisclosed family matter, with all parties involved being acquainted with one another.
