Allison McIntyre Obituary, Death; – A woman who is already facing murder charges for the death of her mental health counselor is now confronted with additional charges related to the murder of her boyfriend, which occurred a week earlier.

Monet Thompson, 49, was previously detained on a murder charge for the death of Allison McIntyre on October 3, 2024.

Annapolis police have now charged Thompson with the murder of her boyfriend, John Logan, which took place on September 26, 2024. Authorities stated that detectives identified Thompson as a suspect from the outset but required time to construct a solid case.

“We are aware that she was the shooter in both incidents,” Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson informed 11 News.

Logan was discovered fatally shot in his apartment located on Georgetown Road in Annapolis, where neighbors such as Angela Graham vividly recall the emergency response.

“I turned on the lights and saw all these police cars lined up down here, across the street, and I thought, ‘What is happening?'” Graham recounted to 11 News.

As the investigation into Logan’s murder progressed, McIntyre was shot and killed while sitting in her car at a Safeway on Forest Drive. Police swiftly apprehended Thompson in connection with McIntyre’s murder based on witness testimonies and surveillance footage.

According to charging documents acquired by 11 News, McIntyre served as the counselor for both Thompson and Logan at the Arundel Lodge behavioral health clinic.

Jackson noted that there were difficulties in determining a motive.

“At times, a motive is clear,” Jackson stated to 11 News. “We are currently in an era where, due to mental illness, establishing a motive can be challenging.”

Thompson remained a primary suspect in Logan’s murder but was not charged until the previous week.

The charging documents indicate that detectives obtained Thompson’s DNA following her initial arrest in connection with McIntyre’s case. The documents reveal that Thompson inquired about the purpose of the DNA collection. When informed it was related to “the homicide,” she replied, “Which one?”

Some community members expressed bewilderment regarding the delay in charging Thompson.

“I question why it took such a long time? Why?”

“I wonder why it took so long? What happened?” Graham said. “We wanted to make sure we had the right evidence and the proper evidence, of course. We’re always in consultation with the office of the state’s attorney. So, we were piecing together all the evidence to make a strong enough case to rise to the level of probable cause,” Jackson told 11 News.

Residents said they hope justice will be served.

“She did something that was egregious, I mean, crazy,” Graham said.

As of Tuesday, Thompson remained in jail, held without bond, awaiting trials in both cases.
