Alexis Vega Obituary, Death; – West Virginia State Police reported on Monday that a woman from Cleveland has succumbed to injuries sustained in two separate accidents that occurred on the West Virginia Turnpike on Sunday. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Alexis Vega from Cleveland.
The incidents transpired near mile marker 87 on I-77 and I-64 in the Chesapeake region. According to law enforcement, the initial collision took place in the southbound lanes. Police stated that Vega’s vehicle collided with the concrete median barrier and came to a halt sideways across both lanes of traffic.
As per the troopers, Vega exited her vehicle and was walking in the traffic lanes when another motorist stopped to assist her in moving off the roadway. Tragically, the driver of a southbound tractor-trailer was unable to stop in time, resulting in a collision with both the assisting vehicle and Vega. She was subsequently transported to a hospital, where law enforcement confirmed that she later passed away.
