Alex Johnson Obituary, Death; – The individual who fell victim to the deadly shooting on Palm Beach Boulevard has been named during an initial court session for the accused. The victim was identified as Alex Johnson, aged 25.
On Monday morning, around 9 a.m., a Facebook post from Advanced Landscaping Solutions, where the victim was employed, expressed the sorrow his colleagues are experiencing due to his passing.
“Alex Johnson was not only our most committed crew member—he was the cornerstone that united our team,” the post stated. “He was my brother-in-law, my closest friend, and for the last 14 years, a steadfast presence in my life who enhanced every day.”
Yanko Romero, aged 41, the individual suspected of fatally shooting Johnson on Sunday morning, has now been charged with additional offenses, including murder.
As per a source, Romero discharged rounds at doors on the seventh and fifth floors of the Harbor Grand apartment building, situated off Palm Beach Boulevard.
He was apprehended on Sunday at the Fort Myers Broadcasting Center, where WINK News is located, on Palm Beach Boulevard outside the Harbor Grand apartments after allegedly being involved in two nearby incidents.
After his arrest, he was processed at the Lee County Jail, where WINK News uncovered the additional charges, which encompass three weapon-related offenses, aggravated assault, homicide, and obstruction of justice.
Just prior to 9 a.m. on Sunday, residents reported hearing multiple gunshots near the Harbor Grand and The Oasis on Palm Beach Boulevard. The Fort Myers Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting incident. Authorities indicated that Romero and the victim were not acquainted.
In the aftermath of the fatal shooting, Romero was observed in front of the WINK News station, where our security cameras captured him leaping over our fences and into the rear parking area. He was seen dragging a blue tarp before discarding it and revealing a handgun in his possession.
