Akili Porter Obituary, Death; Police identify suspect accused of shooting, killing man in northwest Las Vegas

Akili Porter Obituary, Death; – Officials from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department have identified a 24-year-old man from Las Vegas who was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in northwest Las Vegas.

The individual succumbed to his injuries after police reported that he was shot by his girlfriend’s adult son during a verbal dispute. Authorities stated that they received notifications of the shooting at approximately 9:55 a.m. on Sunday, in the 10600 block of Mount Blackburn Avenue, close to the intersection of Hualapai Way and Grand Teton Drive.

Upon the arrival of officers, they discovered a man with gunshot wounds, along with another individual, identified as Akili Porter, 24, inside the residence. The unnamed man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators concluded that an argument ensued between the victim and Porter, during which Porter brandished a firearm and aimed it at the victim. According to police, Porter left the house but returned shortly after and shot the victim multiple times.

Porter has been apprehended and booked into the Clark County Detention Center, facing charges of open murder with a deadly weapon.
