Aiyana N Williams Obituary, Death; – A body discovered in a field in Yorkville on Sunday has been tentatively identified as a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing earlier, as announced by the Kendall County Coroner’s Office.
Kendall County officials had sought assistance from the public in the search for 16-year-old Aiyana Williams, who, according to Yorkville police, had been missing since Monday. Officers indicated that the last sighting of the missing teenager occurred in the Country Hills subdivision near Fawn Ridge Court.
Authorities reported that officers engaged in foot patrols and drone operations found the body at 2 a.m. in a field close to Route 71 and Country Hills Drive.
“Based on the initial investigation, the individual has been tentatively identified as Aiyana N. Williams,” stated the Kendall County Coroner’s Office.
The cause and manner of her death remain undetermined. The case is still under investigation.
During the search, officers mentioned that they were following up on several tips and examining surveillance footage. According to police last week, there was no evidence indicating foul play, and officers suggested that the teenager might have run away.
