Austin Dean Obituary, Death; – The individual who tragically lost their life in a collision in Smithfield on Monday has been confirmed by law enforcement. Austin Dean, aged 20, succumbed to injuries sustained in a vehicular accident on Putnam Pike at approximately 5:35 p.m.
The incident involved two automobiles. The driver of the other vehicle, along with a juvenile passenger, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Their current condition remains undisclosed.
In a statement, School Committee member Gideon Gaudette expressed his astonishment at the “terrible news” regarding Dean’s death. “He was a member of the NAHS Class of 2023 and attended Allen Avenue School during my tenure as principal. I recall him as a warm and amiable young man.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and the staff members who influenced his life. May he rest in peace, Austin,” he remarked. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
