Subsequently, they proceeded a few blocks to the location of the accident. They aspire for their anguish to resonate with the district attorney, urging that charges be brought against the former Harris County Precinct 6 constable deputy whom they believe is accountable for Ricky’s demise.
The ex-law enforcement officer implicated in the incident has not yet faced any charges; he has been identified as Rigo Viviar, who was reportedly off-duty and, according to the Houston Police Department, was driving against traffic on Canal Street at the time of the collision. He was dismissed from his position following the event.
Brenda Resendez, Ricky’s sister, stated that the family will persist in their pursuit of justice, while their mother expressed her struggles with sleep and daily functioning in the absence of her son.
