Michael Allen Carroll Obituary, Death; 20-year-old identified as 1 of 2 men shot dead at abandoned Birmingham house

Michael Allen Carroll Obituary, Death; – One of the two individuals discovered deceased from gunshot wounds at an abandoned residence in the Inglenook area of Birmingham has been identified.

On Monday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim as Michael Allen Carroll, a 20-year-old resident of Center Point. Officers from the East Precinct responded to a report of gunfire at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 4400 block of 41st Place North, as stated by Officer Truman Fitzgerald.

Upon arrival, officers proceeded to the rear of the abandoned property, where they located an unresponsive male victim lying in the driveway. This individual has yet to be identified and was pronounced dead at the scene. Subsequently, law enforcement discovered a second victim, Carroll, inside the house during a thorough search of the vicinity.

At the scene, authorities also encountered a third man who was taken into custody. Additionally, a fourth man was found walking in the area and was detained as well, according to Fitzgerald.

Both detained individuals were placed in the Birmingham City Jail under a 48-hour investigative hold, although it remains unclear if any charges have been filed against them. A stolen vehicle was also recovered from the location.

Carroll was among four men who were fatally shot within a span of approximately four hours on Thursday. Authorities encourage anyone with relevant information to contact homicide investigators at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
