Alexis Tyler Obituary, Death; – In the vicinity of the Cowboys stadium, crime scene tape has been placed around an apartment complex where Arlington police have reported a double homicide. According to Arlington Police, two teenagers were fatally shot at an apartment complex adjacent to AT&T Stadium.

Investigators indicated that the incident occurred around 10:22 p.m. on Saturday night at 600 Slaughter Street. The family of one of the deceased stated that the shooting took place during a gathering at a short-term rental property. “Just knowing that it happened so close is somewhat unsettling,” remarked neighbor Melanie Palmer.

Authorities reported that officers arrived at the scene to discover an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds. Both individuals succumbed to their injuries.

Police confirmed that the male victim had booked the apartment for the weekend through a short-term rental platform. Neighbors informed NBC 5 that while there are numerous short-term rentals in the complex, they have not previously encountered violence of this nature. “It’s quite alarming, especially since it was so near to home,” stated Palmer. “Fortunately, I wasn’t at home, but I have a young daughter.”

Records from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner have identified the female victim as Alexis Tyler. Tyler’s father shared on Facebook, “My daughter and her friend were killed in Arlington at a party… This is incredibly difficult for my family, and I am at a loss for words.”

Police reported that witnesses observed a group fleeing the unit following the shooting and departing in a vehicle. No arrests have been made thus far, but the investigation is ongoing. Residents expressed hope that this incident would be an anomaly rather than a trend for their neighborhood.

“This is typically a very quiet complex,” noted Palmer. “Even with the Airbnbs in the area, we rarely experience any disturbances or issues.” Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Dixon with Arlington PD at (817) 459-5579. Tipsters may also provide information anonymously by reaching out to Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
