Candy La Torre Zapata Obituary, Death; – A 39-year-old woman who lost her life in a two-vehicle accident on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills was identified on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at 12:12 a.m. on Saturday, prompting a response from California Highway Patrol officers to the freeway near the Winnetka Avenue off-ramp. Upon arrival, they discovered a silver BMW and a black BMW, both severely damaged, along with numerous large debris pieces obstructing multiple lanes, as reported by CHP Officer Sergio Garcia to City News Service.
As per the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, Candy La Torre Zapata was located beneath one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP issued a SigAlert, resulting in the closure of the southbound freeway at Winnetka for several hours while they conducted an investigation into the cause of the accident.
