Mark Carlson Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost their life in a collision on Highway 17, north of Rhinelander, earlier this week has been confirmed as a resident of Minnesota.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, 60-year-old Mark Carlson from Woodbury, Minnesota, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident that occurred on Monday afternoon.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Carlson was traveling southbound on Highway 17 near Mud Lake Road when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with another vehicle traveling in the same direction. As a result of the crash, Carlson was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver involved was transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital and subsequently airlifted to Wausau for further medical care.
