Cricket Davis Death; – The mother of a teenager who tragically lost her life in an accident on Highway 280 in 2023 is now speaking out about her experience. Gabriel Uncapher, the individual accused of driving under the influence, has pleaded guilty; however, the family of Cricket Davis is advocating for a murder charge.

Uncapher has admitted to reckless manslaughter in connection with the death of 19-year-old Virginia “Cricket” Davis. According to investigators, the incident occurred on Highway 280 near Hollywood Boulevard after the group left the Zydeco bar.

A civil lawsuit initiated by Davis’ family alleges that Uncapher, while intoxicated and traveling at speeds exceeding 90 miles per hour, lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail, and subsequently rolled over, resulting in Davis being crushed in the backseat. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Since that fateful night, her mother has been advocating for justice.

“I have consistently maintained that a murder charge was warranted, given that he was driving at 93 miles per hour while highly intoxicated, with THC in his system, demonstrating a reckless disregard for human life,” stated Lea Bone, Cricket’s mother. Just three days prior to the accident, Bone received a text from Cricket discussing Biblical themes and chariots.

“I responded by mentioning that Elijah’s chariot was engulfed in fire, to which she replied, ‘I’m not picky, any chariot will do.’ This brings me comfort, knowing she is no longer in pain and is in a better place. I believe this was God’s way of reassuring me that she is safe,” Bone reflected.

Throughout the past year, Bone has leaned heavily on her faith, which she credits for helping her recently when she attempted to access her daughter’s phone after it was returned by the police. The challenge was that she did not know the passcode.

“I picked it up and prayed, ‘God, please help me get into this phone.’ I then randomly entered six digits, and it unlocked. I thought, only God could have done that. Now we have access to her memories, including her pictures and videos,” Bone shared. These memories are precious to Bone, who also wishes to remind families about the grave consequences associated with drinking and driving.
