Jamar E Franklin Obituary, Death; – U.S. Marshals have reported the apprehension of three murder suspects last week in relation to the death of a 29-year-old individual.
As stated in a news release, Khairi Moorer, 23, Derek Edwards, 19, and Robert Davis, 19, are charged with the murder of Jamar E. Franklin, 20, from Akron. The authorities indicated that Franklin was fatally shot on November 7 in Akron following a confrontation.
According to the Akron Police, officers were initially dispatched to a single-vehicle accident near South Main Street and West Miller Avenue. Upon their arrival shortly before 8 p.m., officers discovered Franklin suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The investigation revealed that Franklin had been seated inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Tasty Carry Out on West Long Street when he was shot.
Despite his injuries, Franklin managed to drive a short distance before colliding with another vehicle. He was subsequently transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects fled the scene; however, U.S. Marshals reported that Akron police established a connection between Moorer, Edwards, and Davis to the shooting, leading to the issuance of arrest warrants. All three individuals were taken into custody on November 14 in Akron.
“Exceptional investigative efforts by the Akron Police Department’s detective bureau resulted in the identification of the three suspects allegedly involved in this tragic event. Our task force collaborated closely with Akron Police over the past week to ensure the swift capture of these violent offenders,” stated U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot.
