David Muigia Obituary, Death; – A man from Fresno has lost his life, and three others have sustained injuries following an accident on New Idria Road in San Benito County on Sunday evening.
As reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the operator of a 2024 Can-Am Maverick UTV was heading north on New Idria Road at an undetermined speed when he lost control while navigating a turn.
The vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a substantial drainage ditch. According to the CHP, the UTV became airborne and rotated before coming to rest on its wheels. The deceased passenger has been identified as 39-year-old David Muigia.
The CHP-King City has stated that the driver, 27-year-old Gabriel Lopez, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and subsequently booked into the San Benito County Jail. The other passengers are anticipated to recover.
