Mahogany Washington Obituary Death; – A man has been apprehended and charged with murder following the discovery of human remains associated with a missing persons investigation at a residence in Texas. Michael Dean Davis Jr., aged 27, was taken into custody and charged in Laredo, Texas, on November 12, in relation to the human remains found at a property in Buffalo, Texas, on October 22, as reported by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook.

Michael Dean Davis, Jr. was successfully apprehended in Laredo for the charge of Murder and was transported to the Webb County Jail where he is currently being held on a $3,000,000 bond.

The investigation stemmed from the disappearance of an adult and a child reported missing on June 19, which prompted the search at the residence, according to the release. The adult and child were last seen by their family in July 2022. On November 12, the sheriff’s office confirmed that Michael Dean Davis Jr. was apprehended in Laredo on a murder charge and subsequently transported to the Webb County Jail.

The remains were confirmed to belong to a 27-year-old woman named Mahogany Washington, who was the mother of Davis’ 8-year-old son and the adult reported missing, according to the Laredo Morning Times and KGNS.

The Laredo Police Department, U.S. Marshals, and the sheriff’s office received information indicating that Davis was residing with his missing son at a location near Cuatro Vientos in south Laredo, as reported by the Laredo Morning Times.

The boy was found safe at the time of Davis’ arrest and was placed in the care of Child Protective Services, according to the outlet. “Multiple agencies collaborated to facilitate the arrest of Davis and ensure the safe recovery of a missing and endangered child,” stated the Laredo police.

The investigation indicated that Davis may have been armed and posed a potential threat to his son. Given the suspect’s violent behavior and possible danger to law enforcement and the surrounding community, a strategic plan was developed and executed on November 12, as noted by the Laredo Morning Times.

Authorities discovered several rifles, gas masks, and a tactical suit within the residence where Davis and the child were located, according to KGNS. Davis has also been charged with child endangerment.
