Richard E Childress Obituary, Death; – A man lost his life on Sunday night due to a single-vehicle rollover accident in Brown County, located in northeast Kansas, as reported by authorities. The incident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on US-36 highway at the intersection with Goldfinch Road, approximately five miles east of Fairview.
As per the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2013 Kia Sorento was traveling eastbound on US-36 when, for reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered off the roadway to the left, or north side. Subsequently, the car continued eastward in the ditch, colliding with a highway sign before impacting Goldfinch Road, according to the patrol.
The vehicle then vaulted and rolled over several times, resulting in the ejection of the driver, identified as Richard E. Childress, 76, from Hiawatha. The patrol confirmed that Childress was pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted that Childress was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, as stated by the patrol.
