William Shelburne Obituary, Death; – The Lincoln Police Department confirmed on Sunday the identity of an individual who lost his life in a house fire in northeast Lincoln. The deceased has been identified as 66-year-old William Shelburne, a resident of Lincoln.

Authorities from the LPD suspect that he may have been smoking while utilizing an oxygen tank. Lincoln Fire & Rescue arrived at the scene shortly before midnight on Friday, responding to a fire located near the intersection of 57th and Fremont streets.

A reporter from Channel 8, present at the location, observed smoke emanating from the residence, accompanied by a noticeable burning odor in the vicinity. It was noted that the front window appeared to have been shattered, with foam cascading down the exterior siding.
