Morgan Glover Obituary, Death; – A 24-year-old woman, identified as Morgan Glover, tragically lost her life in an apparent wrong-way collision on GA 400 in Buckhead on Sunday morning, as reported by Atlanta police. Authorities indicated that they responded to an accident involving a Kia Sorento and a Toyota RAV4 on GA 400 North near Lenox Road NE at approximately 5:10 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found Glover, the driver of the Kia, unresponsive, without a pulse, and she was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. The driver of the Toyota, a 52-year-old man, was also unresponsive but was breathing and was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that one of the vehicles may have been traveling in the wrong direction, leading to a head-on collision.
Latasha Barnes, who was en route to her church for work at the time of the incident, recounted her experience of narrowly avoiding the wrong-way driver. “I kept blowing, kept blowing thinking the car was going to slow down, but it didn’t, it just kept straight,” she stated. The fatal accident resulted in the closure of GA 400 North in Buckhead for several hours on Sunday morning, although all lanes have since been reopened.
The incident occurred just prior to Peachtree Street around 5 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The scene was cleared shortly before 10 a.m., with traffic being redirected to Sidney Marcus Boulevard during the lane closures. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.
