Sheila Kelley Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman who tragically lost her life in a motor vehicle accident on Route 6 in South Wellfleet on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sheila Kelley, a resident of Eastham and the proprietor of a flower shop in Wellfleet, as stated in a release from the Wellfleet Police Department. “Sheila was a prominent member of the community and will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. Sheila … impacted many lives in numerous ways. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.”
Kelley owned Kelley’s Flowers, located adjacent to the Wellfleet Public Library on West Main Street. At the age of 63, she was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision between her 2020 Toyota Sienna van and a 2006 box delivery truck on Route 6 in South Wellfleet, as reported in the release. Emergency services were dispatched to the accident site, near the intersection of the highway and Lecount Hollow Road, shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday.
The truck driver, a 60-year-old man from Worcester, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that remain unspecified, according to the press release. The Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
