Justin Bell Obituary, Death;- A man was fatally shot on Saturday night following an attempted robbery at a Walmart parking lot in the suburbs, which concluded when one of the suspects accidentally shot his accomplice.
Officers received a call at approximately 7:50 p.m. to the location at 2500 W. 95th St., where a victim reported being approached by a silver Audi with three individuals inside. According to police, two men armed with handguns exited the vehicle and attempted to rob him; however, during the ensuing struggle, one of the assailants discharged his weapon multiple times, inadvertently hitting the other suspect.
The group then fled the scene in the Audi, and at 8:53 p.m., a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was brought to a Chicago hospital by a vehicle that matched the Audi’s description. He was later declared dead, as confirmed by police. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has identified the deceased as 18-year-old Justin Bell from Lynwood.
The other two individuals who were in the Audi, which bore temporary Illinois registration and had damage to the front driver’s side, have yet to be found.
The Evergreen Park police, along with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, are conducting an investigation and urge anyone with information to contact 708-422-2144.
