George Chin Ku,Scarlett Shiu-Mei Ku Obituary, Death; – The Phoenix Police Department is conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred in south Phoenix on Sunday night, resulting in three fatalities and one individual hospitalized, as stated in a press release.
Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of 39th Street and Beverly Road at approximately 4:45 p.m. on November 23 in response to a domestic violence report, according to the release. While officers were en route, the caller reported that a man was discharging a firearm from within the residence and that multiple individuals had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man, later identified as 68-year-old George Chin Ku, and a woman, later identified as 64-year-old Scarlett Shiu-Mei Ku, both deceased from gunshot wounds inside the residence. Additionally, two men were located inside, one of whom was identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Jonathan Ku, both suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Both men were transported to a local hospital for medical care. Jeremy Ku succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the other man sustained non-life-threatening injuries, as reported in the release.
The initial investigation suggests that during a domestic violence altercation between husband George and wife Scarlett, George brandished a firearm and shot Scarlett at least once. He then aimed his handgun at his son Jeremy and the other man present in the home, shooting both. Following this, George turned the weapon on himself, resulting in his death.
Further details regarding this incident are part of the ongoing investigation, which remains active. Currently, there are no additional suspects being pursued.
