Laulea Fiefia,Xylie Hutchinson Obituary, Death; – The two teenagers who tragically lost their lives in a car accident in Providence over the weekend have been recognized by their friends and family.
The 17-year-old male, known as Laulea Fiefia, was declared dead at the scene, while the 14-year-old female passenger, identified as Xylie Hutchinson, succumbed to her injuries later at a hospital.
Laulea’s friends and family expressed in a GoFundMe that “his loyalty, sense of humor, and competitive spirit made him a cherished son, brother, and friend to many.”
Xylie’s friends and family noted in a GoFundMe that “Xylie was an extraordinary presence on the ice with her hockey teams. She was a fierce protector of her teammates and a wonderful friend off the ice.”
Furthermore, two of the teenagers who were hospitalized following the accident have been named by their families as Kaycin Nielsen and Braxton Miller.
The Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) confirmed that, around 7:09 pm, the driver of a Toyota Corolla, carrying five passengers, lost control, crossed all northbound lanes, and entered oncoming traffic. They collided with the front of a Toyota Sienna minivan before rolling over. Three of the five passengers were ejected from the Corolla.
One 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
UHP reported that one occupant was airlifted to a nearby hospital, while three others were taken by ambulance.
One 14-year-old female was later declared dead at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
