Jordan Garcia,Kia Mae Scott Obituary, Death; – Officials have identified the young victims of a shooting in Newark over the weekend.
Jordan Garcia, 10, and Kia Mae Scott, 21, were both killed in Saturday’s shooting, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Garcia’s 11-year-old brother was also injured in the shooting, officials said. He and a 60-year-old man are in stable condition, and a 19-year-old is in critical condition.
The deadly shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Chancellor Avenue, killing two people whose lives were just beginning, according to the Essex County Prosecutor.
Officials are still searching for a suspect, and they’re offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the shooting.
