Heather Haynes Obituary, Death; – A woman lost her life in Hixson after officials reported that she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided nearly head-on with a pickup truck on Thursday afternoon.
The incident, which involved a total of five vehicles, occurred shortly after 2 p.m. in the 7000 block of Middle Valley Road, as stated in a release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
That release indicates that the victim, identified as Heather Haynes, was traveling north on Middle Valley Road when her vehicle veered into the southbound lane and impacted a pickup truck “nearly head-on,” resulting in a chain reaction that caused additional collisions and damage to other vehicles.
Haynes was declared dead at the scene.
This marks the second fatal accident in Hamilton County within a 24-hour timeframe on Thursday. Later that evening, another woman was killed when the van she was traveling in crashed into a tree at high speed.
