Zavionne Payne Obituary, Death; – The Gautier Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that occurred during a homecoming event for Gautier High School alumni.
As reported by authorities, gunfire erupted at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, September 19, on Dolphin Drive in the vicinity of the roundabout.
The victim has been identified by Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd as 22-year-old Zavionne Payne, a resident of Gautier.
Officials have stated that Payne succumbed to injuries sustained in the shooting.
Additionally, two other individuals were transported to the hospital with injuries; however, the severity of their conditions remains unknown at this time.
The Gautier police are actively seeking a suspect in this case.
