Tyran Dwayne McMillian Obituary, Death; – The Allen County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who passed away after being hit by a vehicle while utilizing a wheelchair in downtown Fort Wayne on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of South Clinton and East Baker streets, close to the USPS, according to police reports.
Authorities stated that upon their arrival at the location, they discovered a man in a wheelchair in critical condition, who was later pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, the man was in the process of crossing Clinton Street when he was struck, and it was reported that heavy rain was falling at that time. Additionally, police indicated that the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene to provide information to the officers.
On Monday, the coroner’s office identified the deceased as 50-year-old Tyran Dwayne McMillian, a resident of Fort Wayne.
The cause of death was determined to be an accident, marking the 34th traffic-related fatality in Allen County for the current year.
