Humaid Ghasan Omar Salem Obituary, Death; – Capitol Police are conducting an investigation into the homicide of a 17-year-old in North Jackson, as reported by Bailey Martin, a spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
In a press release issued on Saturday, September 20, Martin indicated that the homicide took place at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Friday, September 19, in the vicinity of Sunnyvale Drive and Sandalwood Place.
Martin confirmed that the victim was male but did not disclose his identity.
Interim Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard identified the victim to the Clarion Ledger as “Humaid Ghasan Omar Salem, 17.” Howard stated that Salem succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
The Clarion Ledger contacted Martin on Monday morning, September 22, seeking any further updates regarding this case, and was informed that “there are no updates that we can provide at this time.”
