Dylan C Knowles Obituary, Death;- The Virginia State Police is currently conducting an investigation into a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man in Augusta County on the evening of Sunday, September 14.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Stuarts Draft Highway (Route 340) and Ladd Rd. at 9:00 p.m. following reports of a hit-and-run incident.
According to police, a Kia Sorrento was traveling north on Route 340 when it collided with an e-bike that was also proceeding in the same direction.
The rider of the bike, identified as 25-year-old Dylan C. Knowles from Waynesboro, was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by the Virginia State Police.
The driver of the Kia Sorrento, identified as 36-year-old Samuel W. Call, also from Waynesboro, fled the scene but was later apprehended with assistance from the Waynesboro Police Department, according to VSP.
Call has been charged with:
– Driving while intoxicated
– Felony hit-and-run
He is currently in jail, and additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues; however, there is no information available regarding his bond.
