James Gabbard Obituary, Death; – A resident of Hazel Green lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Saturday morning in Powell County.
On September 13, Kentucky State Police issued a press release stating that at approximately 8 a.m., troopers from Post 8 were summoned by Powell County dispatchers for assistance with a fatal single-vehicle accident on the Mountain Parkway near the 33-mile marker.
An initial investigation revealed that 49-year-old James Gabbard, from Hazel Green, was traveling east when he reportedly veered off the roadway and struck an embankment, resulting in the vehicle overturning.
Coroner Megan Wells-Curtis declared Gabbard deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
