Matthew Silverstone Obituary, Death; – One of the two individuals who were hospitalized following the shooting incident at Evergreen High School has been identified.
On Thursday afternoon, the family of 18-year-old Matthew Silverstone shared a photograph and a statement via the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The family expressed gratitude for the community’s concern and support, but stated, “As we remain focused on our loved one’s recovery, we respectfully request privacy as we continue to heal and navigate the road ahead.”
The family of the second hospitalized victim has requested privacy, as indicated by the sheriff’s office, and has opted not to issue a statement or share a photograph.
On Wednesday at 12:24 p.m., a student discharged a firearm both inside and outside the high school premises, injuring two other students.
During a press conference on Thursday morning, a representative from the sheriff’s office disclosed the identity of the shooter, who succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday night.
