Frank J Dempaire,Elize Carlos Obituary, Death;- Frank J. Dempaire, aged 45, from Reading, Pennsylvania, and Elize Carlos, also 45, from Newark, New Jersey, have been identified as the victims, as reported by the New York State Police.
The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, when both vehicles were heading east on State Route 17, and the tractor trailer collided with the rear of the passenger vehicle, according to troopers. Dempaire and Carlos, who were occupants of the car, succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The driver of the tractor trailer did not sustain any injuries, police stated.
Route 17 east between Exit 61 (Barton) and Exit 62 (Nichols) was closed for several hours but has since been reopened, as confirmed by authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing.
