Jackie Spicer Obituary, Death; – A man from Cecil County passed away in a local hospital on Monday, two days following a motorcycle accident in which he collided with a turning vehicle at the intersection of a Delaware highway, as reported by the Delaware State Police.

Authorities have identified the victim as Jackie Spicer, 53, from Elkton.

Spicer was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound in the left lane of Chestnut Hill Road around 8 p.m. on Saturday when a 44-year-old woman from Newark, driving an eastbound Buick LaCrosse, attempted to make a left turn across the westbound lane onto North Kingston Road, according to police reports.

At that moment, Spicer’s motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the Buick, as stated by the police. The collision caused Spicer to be thrown from the motorcycle, according to law enforcement.

An ambulance transported Spicer from the scene of the accident to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his unspecified injuries on Monday, according to police. The driver of the car was reported to be unharmed, police noted.

The accident necessitated the closure of a portion of the road for about one hour, facilitating cleanup and an on-site investigation by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit, as indicated by police officials.

As of Thursday, the investigation remains active.
