Jonathan Stills Obituary, Death; – The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has disclosed the identity of the box truck driver who tragically lost his life in a vehicular accident in Canandaigua on August 27.
Jonathan Stills, aged 40, from Lima, New York, died in a severe collision with an SUV at the junction of Cooley Road, Hickox Road, and State Route 5&20, as reported by OCSO.
The SUV driver, Kassandra Yankanich, 29, from Canandaigua, sustained no injuries; however, a child passenger in her vehicle was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital due to shoulder pain.
OCSO: update on the crash investigation
According to OCSO, the box truck was proceeding westbound on Route 5&20 when it struck the SUV, which was traveling north on Hickox Road. The investigation revealed that Stills did not stop at a red traffic signal on Route 5&20, resulting in the truck entering the SUV’s path.
The collision caused Stills’ box truck to collide with and become entangled in a utility pole. He was declared dead at the scene.
OCSO indicated that there was no indication of drug or alcohol involvement at the site of the accident.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
