David S Ayers Obituary, Death;– A man has lost his life, and another individual was transported to the hospital following a collision in Highland County on Sunday.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. when troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived at the intersection of State Route 138 and Mad River Road in response to a report of a crash.
As per the Ohio State Highway Patrol, an initial investigation revealed that a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling south, failed to yield at a stop sign, entered the intersection, and collided with another vehicle, a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse.
Both vehicles subsequently veered off the southeast corner of the intersection and came to a halt. One of the passengers in the Chevrolet Traverse was declared dead at the scene. He has been identified as David S. Ayers, aged 97, from Hillsboro.
A second passenger from the Chevrolet Traverse was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital. Two additional individuals received treatment at the scene. The investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.
