Nolan Henke Obituary, Death; – A passenger lost their life in a crash that occurred during the early hours of Sunday in Meeker County.
As per a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office issued on Monday morning, Nolan Henke, 19, from Dassel, was declared dead at the scene.
Elijah Miller, 19, from Cokato, has been identified as the driver of the vehicle. He was airlifted from the site in critical condition with potentially life-threatening injuries, as stated by the Sheriff’s Office. Miller was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis for medical care.
The incident was first reported at approximately 3:05 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Meeker County Road 6 and 746th Avenue in Collinwood Township, located southeast of Dassel.
Initial investigations indicated that the vehicle involved was traveling westbound on County Road 6 when it lost control, veered off the road, and collided with a telephone pole on its passenger side.
Both Miller and Henke required extrication from the vehicle by first responders.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Dassel Fire and Rescue, Cokato Fire and Rescue, Cokato Ambulance, Mayo Ambulance, and LifeLink all provided assistance to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
