Giovanni Rios Obituary, Death; – The Texas Department of Public Safety is conducting an investigation into a motorcycle accident involving a single vehicle that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man on Sunday.
According to a news release from Texas DPS, the incident took place at 5:30 p.m. on Trinidad Lane, located south of Mile 6 ½ Road, to the west of Alton.
The preliminary investigation by DPS indicated that a red and white 2011 Honda CRF250F motorcycle was heading north on Trinidad Lane at an excessive speed.
The rider, named Giovanni Rios, lost control of the motorcycle, which subsequently left the roadway and hit a curb.
As a result of the collision, Rios was thrown from the motorcycle and struck a light pole. He was taken to Mission Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
DPS Troopers are continuing their investigation into this tragic accident.
