Jessica Baldoz Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost her life in a shooting incident that also resulted in injuries to two officers responding to a domestic violence call has been named as Jessica Baldoz, as reported by Chesapeake police.
In a criminal complaint submitted by Baldoz in May, she informed the police that the suspect, 39-year-old Shaun M. Boker, was her “long-time boyfriend.” In another criminal complaint, she indicated to officers that she had previously cohabited with Boker from March 2024 until February 2025.
The situation escalated from a domestic violence call on Wednesday night. Officers heard her cries for assistance, and while they were attempting to force entry through the front door, two officers were shot through the door.
Almost 12 hours later, Boker was apprehended following a brief standoff in Portsmouth. He is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
Court documents reveal that Baldoz had filed three domestic assault charges against Boker, including one incident that occurred in November. Additionally, protective orders had been filed against him by Baldoz.
In a separate matter, there was a domestic assault charge against Boker from another partner in 2018, for which the victim sought a protective order against him.
