Eric Johnson Obituary, Death;- Union police are searching for a man they said shot and killed another on Friday.
According to Union Public Safety Department, at around 7:30 p.m. Friday, Union police officers were called to the area of 100 West Henrietta Street for a reported gunshot.
At the scene officers found an unidentified male victim laying in an open field behind Pinckney Street. The victim was taken by EMS to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center where he later died.
The victim was identified as Eric Johnson of Union. The Union County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy has been scheduled with Newberry Pathology Associates.
After speaking to witnesses and using video surveillance, investigators said they identified Charles Mark Young as a suspect in the killing.
Warrants have been issued for Young for murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. At this time, Young has not been arrested and police said he is considered armed and dangerous. Police are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to call 911.
