Scott Martin Obituary, Death; – A man from Maine has died after being hit by a vehicle while he was standing in a driveway in Naples, as reported by authorities.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies and firefighters from Naples were dispatched to the vicinity of 227 Roosevelt Trail shortly after 4:10 p.m. on Thursday.
Upon arrival, first responders found that a two-vehicle collision had occurred in a driveway, and a pedestrian had also been struck, resulting in fatal injuries.
The victim of the crash has been identified as Scott Martin, 56, from Naples, by the sheriff’s office.
According to investigators, a 29-year-old man from West Baldwin was operating a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee that veered off the roadway and collided with a 2013 Ford van parked in the driveway.
Investigators indicated that the Jeep left the road as the driver swerved to avoid another vehicle.
At this moment, authorities are not releasing any additional information. It remains uncertain whether any charges will be brought in relation to the crash.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Crash Reconstruction Unit of the Windham Police Department, is continuing to investigate the incident.
