Kirby Jones Obituary, Death; – A Chilton County man is dead after a shooting Tuesday, according to the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a home on County Road 324 on reports of a shooting. There, they found the victim, identified as Kirby Jones, of Maplesville, suffering from at least one gunshot to the chest. The man was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined Jones was fatally shot after getting into a fight with the neighbor of a friend he was visiting.
The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office has since arrested Evan Romano in connection with the deadly shooting and charged him with murder. Romano is currently being held in the Chilton County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
