Valentin Chapa Jr Obituary, Death; – A 26-year-old man from Kenosha lost his life early Sunday morning due to a severe single-vehicle accident on 60th Street, which resulted in his car overturning and his passenger sustaining injuries.
According to a statement issued by the Kenosha Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:03 a.m. to the 1400 block of 60th Street following reports of a collision involving a fire hydrant and a tree. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a 2006 Lexus overturned with both individuals trapped inside.
The driver, identified as Valentin Chapa Jr., was declared deceased at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office. His passenger, a 25-year-old woman from Illinois, was rescued by the Kenosha Fire Department and taken to a nearby hospital with a fractured arm.
Authorities indicated that the vehicle had rolled over during the incident, but the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) was called in to aid with the reconstruction of the event.
The roadway was closed for approximately five hours while emergency personnel managed the scene.
Kenosha Police expressed their condolences to those impacted by the accident and extended their gratitude to the Kenosha Fire Department and MCAT for their support.
