Martha Nolan-OSlatarra Obituary, Death; – Police in New York said a 33-year-old woman was found dead on a docked boat at a yacht club Tuesday. The woman was later identified as a fashion designer from Manhattan.
The Montauk Yacht Club became the scene of an investigation after detectives from Suffolk Police were called at 4:00 a.m. for the report of a woman’s body that was found in a boat docked in the water off Star Island Road.
Officials identified the woman as Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra, NBC News reported. Investigators said the Nolan-O’Slatarra’s cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.
Residents and people visiting the area said they are surprised to hear about the homicide investigation in Montauk.
“It’s pretty troubling in such a small town, everyone’s here to have a good time,” one person said. “It’s a shame something like that happens, makes you nervous about what’s going on in the area.”
The News 12 Long Island said Montauk Yacht Club asked them to leave the property, and the club declined to comment on the investigation.
